Funding and Support

LiRN is a not-for-profit corporation funded through a levy placed on lawyer licence fees by the Law Society of Ontario to provide law library services and programs to lawyers in Ontario. We are also charged with creating guidelines, standards, policies and priorities for the network.

The Innovation and Equity of Access to Legal Resources Project gives library staff the opportunity to pilot their most promising ideas and bring all Ontario law library collections up to a common minimum standard.

We have also introduced a pilot of rangefindr.ca under this project. LiRN thanks The Law Foundation of Ontario for funding this project. Learn more here.
