Benefits Information

To assist funded law association employers in providing access to long term disability benefits (“LTD”) by providing the opportunity to work in a coordinated fashion, LiRN has contracted for a group policy from Canada Life. This does not affect the association’s role as employer.

Insurance Information

LiRN purchases and maintains two policies for the network libraries. If you would like a copy of either or both, email your request to [email protected].

Directors and Officers Liability Insurance for Associations: This D&O insurance policy protects association board members from personal financial losses if sued for alleged wrongful acts or omissions while performing their duties.
- Current Annual Policy April 30, 2026 to April 30, 2027

Property and Liability Insurance: solely for library property (not association). Covers items such as office contents, book collections, equipment breakdown, floods, business interruption, theft, robbery, fraud, and tenant’s liability. Going forward LiRN will, each January, ask for a contents review of your library and make any updates before the policy renews in April. This policy also provides the Certificate of Insurance needed for off-site events – this must be requested separately for each event (see below).

Certificate for Insurance (COI) for functions at an outside venue
Note: Sporting events are not covered under the Property and Liability Insurance policy. However, a quote to obtain insurance can be provided.
